Well, it just doesn't get much better than this! Straight out of the middle of the OM's first run, this 1931 OM-18 has that pre-war tone, with mahogany warmth and articulation but the complexity and nuance that nowadays we more often associate with rosewood. Included with this guitar is its original hardshell case—still in very good condition—and paperwork from one of its former owners, Conway Twitty. Don Teeter of Don's Guitar Shop in Oklahoma City enclosed a handwritten note about this guitar's light construction and set-up, detailing adjustments he made, and instructions to only use light gauge strings. More recently in 2003, Gruhn Guitars did a neck reset, replaced the bridge plate (with an appropriate thin maple bridge plate), dressed the frets, and repaired and touched up some cracks in the side.
