To a collector, condition may be everything. But those in search of "the tone" know that the best-sounding pre-war Martins are the ones that look like they have been played. This 1937 D-18 may have a few battle scars, but in trade, it has a mature, open voice that can only be developed through years of diligent play. A full-bodied, authoritative attack and a surprisingly complex decay rightfully declare that this is the tone that tone is based on. While a great "Old Bone" may be thought of as the final stop for many guitarists with acquisition syndrome, this D-18 will remind you that mahogany should never be underestimated.
Maintenance includes a side crack that has been solidly repaired. The body shows evidence of an older overspray. The action is good, and the playability is excellent. Please reach out for a more detailed in-hand description!
