It's not often you see Engelmann spruce on a dreadnought, but this Keb' Mo' signature HD-28 from Martin makes a good argument in favor of it. Combining the soft spruce with koa back and sides has resulted in a tone that is so deliciously warm and responsive, with clean note separation. The current set-up is nice and loose, making it so easy-playing for fingerstyle, with a satin finish on the rounded neck, further enhancing playability. Keb' Mo's signature is inlaid between the 19th and 20th frets, and the label is personally signed by Keb' Mo' and Martin Chairman and CEO, C. F. Martin IV.

The condition of this 2001 model is very good to excellent. It has no notable dings, scratches, or fretwear, just some light swirling in the finish to indicate a lifetime of careful play, plus some wear on the pickguard.
