McAlister C-28, Madagascar Rosewood & German Spruce - Pre-Owned

Washington-based luthier Roy McAlister has folks like David Crosby and Jackson Browne raving about his guitars, and given his several decades experience and time spent building alongside the likes of Richard Hoover, that should be no surprise. This C-28 is OM-like in dimension and curve, and it should feel familiar to any fans of Martin-style guitars. Lightly built, with scalloped bracing and vintage-style appointments, it pairs two premium tonewoods and makes for something truly excellent. German spruce and Madagascar rosewood pair for a wonderfully warm voice, with strong bass and mids, and clear highs that don't get in the way of vocals. With a short scale, it's especially well-suited to fingerstyle accompaniment, though the versatility of the body size means it can certainly tackle much more.

There is one notable 2" finish scratch that doesn't break through to wood on the back, but otherwise, fit, finish, playability and condition are excellent.
