McGill Turbo Nylon String, Cocobolo & Cedar - Pre-Owned
"As a question of refinement, the design of the classical guitar is in the most challenging guitar to make in my opinion. Refining my sensitivities making these instruments gave me a better ability to face challenging design obstacles over the course of my career."
This Turbo model nylon-string guitar from Tennessee builder Paul McGill strikes wonderful balance between traditional and contemporary. Slightly larger than a typical classical guitar, it's easy to adapt to for players of acoustic flattops, and the distinctive rosette and the rounded edges of the bridge and headstock have a mid-20th century aesthetic flair. Despite those modern traits, it's not really a typical "crossover" nylon-string. The wide 2" nut and neck shape feel more traditional, and will be pleasing for those seeking the space required for complex left hand configurations. The pairing of cedar and cocobolo gives the player a wide tonal palette, from silky and lyrical, to brassy and articulate, to rich and dark. Combined with a neck shape that enables fast, smooth playing, this is a deeply satisfying guitar to play.
Save for a couple light dings on the lower bout bass side, this nylon-string McGill is in excellent condition.
