Jim Merrill has been building guitars since 1999, and has earned respect in the world of high-end handmade guitars. Renowned for his beautiful Martin-inspired dreadnoughts, the Woodbridge is Merrill’s attempt at a fingerstyle-centric instrument. The result is a guitar that’s rooted in tradition, while still retaining a distinctive style.
This example was built with a Cedar top and Indian Rosewood back and sides, making for a lush and articulate instrument perfect for the solo fingerstyle player. Cedar has less density than Spruce, giving the guitar a darker tone, while also adding more overtones. The guitar is responsive and resonant, and is a beautiful example of Merrill’s craftsmanship. This guitar is in excellent pre-owned condition and comes with the original hardshell case and a K&K Trinity pickup system installed.
