The late Preston Thompson was renowned for building some of the best modern dreadnoughts available, and this guitar is no exception. Virtuosic flatpickers such as Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle tour the world playing Thompson dreadnoughts, and favor them for their volume, playability and responsiveness. This is a beautiful example featuring an Adirondack top, 5A Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and 42-style fingerboard inlays. The headstock bears the always classy torch inlay, giving this guitar a very authentic ‘30s vibe.

This Thompson D-BA 42 Deluxe is a joy to play, and the Adirondack top is perfectly suited to flatpicking. The Brazilian Rosewood back and sides add harmonic complexity and beautiful overtones, making this a powerful and dynamic guitar. Thompson’s craftsmanship is as good as it gets, and this guitar is no exception. This particular instrument was built in 2017 prior to Mr Thompson’s untimely passing, and the label bears his signature. This guitar has some light wear throughout, but is in overall excellent condition and comes with its OHSC.
