To describe Tyler Robbins as an exacting, studious luthier may be a solid understatement. One of the lead builders and the head of the repair department at Galloup Guitars, the scientifically-minded builder has worked in every aspect of the process, from design and development, parts building, data analysis, material testing, and of course, just crafting beautiful guitars.

Tyler describes the R.1 model as "an Auditorium class instrument executed with a contrast between flowing curves and defined angles." Designed with a wide array of playing styles and versatility in mind, it has clarity and clean note separation from low to high. Though it projects with power and presence, the mid-size body ensures a focus that works well in the studio or on stage. And with the tonewood combination of Brazilian rosewood and Italian spruce, this guitar has the nuance and character to dive into alternate tunings with aplomb.

The original owner of this R.1 worked closely with Tyler in the building process. The specially chosen woods are accented by some incredible inlay and sterling silver metal work, and a graceful, swooping bevelled armrest. The boutique instrument world is a tough one to stand out in these days, but Tyler's unique aesthetic and exquisite craftsmanship place his guitars among the best. We hope we'll see many more of his guitars in the future.
