Santa Cruz 00 Skye, Brazilian Rosewood & Ancient Sitka Spruce
To match the distinct personality and playing style of lauded jazz guitarist Eric Skye, SCGC's Richard Hoover worked with him to design a short scale, slightly deeper bodied 00 perfectly suited to "the excruciatingly accurate and sophisticated techniques of the most demanding jazz fingerstylist." This very special model presents an incredible tonewood departure from the standard Adi and cocobolo model: Brazilian rosewood and now increasingly rare ancient Sitka spruce. This may, in fact, be the final ancient Sitka guitar to pass through our doors from SCGC! As we've noted from every one of the BRW and ancient Sitka guitars we've had, this one has notable clarity and sparkle in the high end. In this case, it's balanced by a rich bass thanks to that deeper body shape. Another departure from the standard model are the appointments, which in this case include snakewood binding and tuner buttons, and simple black line purfling.
