Santa Cruz D Custom, Figured Mahogany & Adirondack Spruce - Pre-Owned
For as much time as we spend comparing dreadnoughts and OMs, mahogany and rosewood, sometimes you pick up a guitar that just defies all that. This Santa Cruz 12-fret custom dreadnought may be mahogany, but it's solid proof that when used right—and with the gift of a little time—mahogany can be just as rich and complex in tone as Indian rosewood. The serial number puts this one in 1994 for the build year, so it's had plenty of time to open up and round out, and that it has done. Light as a feather, responsive and full-bodied, this guitar is a monster in drop tunings, and it works just as well for fingerstyle as for flatpicking.
Given its age, it'd be shocking if it made it to us in pristine condition, but it's not quite "player grade" either. A few noticeable dings and some scuffing on the back give away a life well-lived (and loved). Reach out to Kim for an in-hand description!
