Details
Back in the 1980s, Santa Cruz was one of the first companies to reintroduce the versatile, classic Orchestra Model, taking elements of the old pre-war Martin OMs and refining them into something all their own. This 42-style OM is SCGC craftsmanship and tone at its finest. With luscious Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides and a German spruce top, it combines a pronounced, clear attack with lingering and complex overtones. A wider, fingerstyle-friendly nut width of 1-13/16" and string spacing at the bridge of 2-5/16" facilitates full chord-melody arrangements. Rather unusual, this OM combines the 42-style abalone purfling with an ebony binding. The condition of this pre-owned model is excellent, with only minimal signs of prior ownership despite a very thin finish.
