Details
This is a compelling variation on the SCGC OM Grand model, in cocobolo and beautiful bearclaw Italian spruce. These models typically have a standard scale, but this one is short at 24-3/4", giving it the easy playability and feel of a jumbo. It just draws you in to endlessly strum open chords and fingerpick. The OM Grand models have a serious boost in presence and dynamic range compared to standard OMs, thanks to their 16" wide lower bout. As SCGC says, "The strength of the OM Grand isn’t limited to sheer volume. In the sometimes restrained presence of solo fingerstyle playing, the inherent power of this guitar will generate a forceful bloom, requiring less effort with no loss of nuance." And in this wood pairing, it's got a balanced voice and just the right amount of sustain and lushness to handle a wide range of playing styles.
The condition of this 2013 pre-owned model is excellent, with only light signs of prior playing. Adding further distinction is a light cowboy rope purfling, rosette and backstrip, and a Dalmatian pickguard.
