Details

This SCGC OM may be standard in dimension and design, but with these special tonewoods, it's anything but! Originally purchased from Eddie's Guitars in St. Louis, MO, this OM was custom ordered with two highly sought after old-growth tonewoods: Tunnel 13 redwood and mahogany from "The Tree". You may already know how much we love "The Tree" here at TNAG. Initially cut down in Belize in the 1960s, and it's been in high demand by woodworkers of all types for its incredible quilting, and by luthiers for its blend of mahogany and rosewood-like tonal characteristics. The soundboard is some of the finest redwood available today, reclaimed from a tunnel built on the CA/OR border in the 1880s. It's quarter-sawn, straight-grained, and has had the benefit of a century and a half of drying and vibration.

This OM is Santa Cruz craftsmanship at its finest, lightly constructed with Adirondack spruce braces and hot hide glue, and carefully voiced. The end result is a guitar with absolutely incredible tone. Mahogany warmth meets the kind of harmonic complexity and sustaining overtones you're more accustomed to hearing from the finest Brazilian rosewood. It was completed in 2019, and the condition is excellent. Fingerstylists, this one will break your heart.
