Details
The Santa Cruz Style 1 pays homage to C.F. Martin & Co’s original Size 1 parlor guitar. It is widely believed that the parlor style body is the ideal size for tonal perfection, and guitars only became larger due to an increased desire for more volume. With modern amplification and recording techniques, SCGC believes “we can once again embrace sound quality over sound quantity”, and their Style 1 does exactly that.
The classic pairing of a European spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, paired with its slightly deeper parlor body style, creates an exceptionally sweet sounding guitar. The Style 1 has a surprising amount of volume and presence, without lacking warmth or clarity. These tonal features, paired with its ornate appointments, including a cowboy rosette and purfling, cocobolo body and fretboard binding, and zig-zag backstrip, make this Santa Cruz Style 1 a stylish and ideal choice for contemporary fingerstyle techniques.
