This stunning 'Totem' series instrument from Vienna based luthier Michael Spalt captures just about everything we love about his sensational and utterly unique guitars.
Made up of alder for the body with a resin top holding the collage of materials and items that give the guitar its iconic aesthetic, with an inherent resonance and chime when played unplugged.
The Maple neck is wonderfully figured and provides an exceptionally comfortable platform for most any playing style, with a responsive and articulate feel all the way through to the dusty end of the board.
In the neck position, the guitar sports a TV Jones Powertron, complimented by a hand wound Spalt BoneTop T-style pickup in the bridge. Between the two the guitar covers a diverse range from 50s chicken picking and rockabilly through to contemporary funk and soul tones and with some gain dialled in on the amp, anything's possible.
