With over 50 years spent innovating and building guitars, Steve Klein was named as one of the most influential builders of the 1970s, alongside Richard Hoover, Linda Manzer, and Michael Gurian. If that wasn't a high enough accolade on its own, his unusual guitars can be found in the hands of folks like Bill Frisell, Joni Mitchell, Andy Summers, and plenty more.
His Headless model is an ergonomic--and decidedly portable--design. Utilizing the Steinberger bridge system, this headless guitar only measures 31-1/2 inches in total. Steve went to great lengths in crafting his models to solve areas of tension and bad technique to which many guitarists are susceptible. The body tucks against the right leg and ends up propped up on the left at an optimal angle, facilitating optimal left arm position and movement. A gentle curve on the upper bout encourages a tension-free right arm angle, as well.
The humbucker-style double coil pickups are versatile and suitable for almost any purpose or style. The ombre amber finish sports Klein's decorative signature, and beautifully brings out the grain of the swamp ash body. The condition of this pre-owned guitar is very good. You can tell it was frequently played in its former life, but well cared for overall.
