Details

"Tirga Mhor, pronounced ‘Chigora Mor’ is Harris’s second highest peak. She faces north east looking out over the forgotten ridges of North Harris and on to the plains of Lewis."

Rory Dowling's Tirga Mhor model is his take on the 12-fret 000, designed in part with feedback and discussions with fingerstyle legend Martin Simpson in mind. As one can easily see, this is a 000 that has gone off in some unique directions. Loads of player-friendly features abound - a multi-scale fan-fret design, a bevelled armrest, and a generous cutaway make an already comfortable mid-sized guitar even more delectable. But the real treat is the unusual combination of Swiss moon spruce and 5000-year-old Royal Fenland oak, and Rory's stunning, creative use of Scottish elm, African blackwood and cedar for the appointments.
