The discontinued Taylor GT8 8-String Baritone is a truly unique instrument, unlikely to be duplicated by anything else in your collection. With two octave strings added to the third and fourth sets, the player gets a "touch of upper-octave brightness without too much 12-string jangle", and wide tonal range that extends from the baritone up into standard range (B1 to D4). The body size is Taylor's Grand Symphony, described as a strong strummer, and well-suited to support the baritone range. The longer 27-inch scale length helps to maintain normal string tension, so transitioning to this baritone is no struggle. Indian rosewood and Sitka provide all the warmth and rich nuance a set-up like this requires. This guitar is in excellent condition. The prior owner swapped out the original Expression System pickup system and replaced it with an L.R. Baggs Element pickup.
