Details

Inspired by the early work of C.F. Martin, Swedish luthier Thomas Fredholm has been handcrafting high quality guitars since the 1980s. Fredholm builds his steel strings in using the “traditional classical” method, upside down with the traditional Spanish peones (glue blocks) inside. Instead of having kerfing in the top, Fredholm utilizes these triangular blocks to connect the top to the sides of the guitar. He believes that this gives the guitar a better tonality due to the accuracy of the glue joints.

This instrument pairs lightweight, tap-tuned German spruce with old-growth Indian rosewood, for a nuanced, complex, and well-balanced tone that's all classic D-28. The prior owner took excellent care of this instrument, which you can tell from the pristine condition of the ultra thin French polish finish. Fredholm's identifiable take on 42-style appointments - thick, bold lines of abalone on the rosette and purfling, and a zipper backstrip - accent this already beautiful pre-war inspired dread.

This instrument is described to the best of our knowledge. Please reach out for further in-hand description.
