This Tippin OM-T speaks volumes to Bill Tippin’s magnificent craftsmanship. Its incredibly tight-grained sinker “salmon crate” Sitka spruce top, alongside its Khaya mahogany back and sides, create a lively warmth, resonance, and shimmer, that transcends words. The combination of its OM body size, 25-3/8” scale length, and 1-3/4” nut width, make for a guitar that is undeniably difficult to put down.
While originally completed in 2002, this guitar has recently been sent to Bill Tippin for a full update. This recent work included a re-fret, a nut and saddle replacement, as well as a re-voicing and restructuring of the guitar’s bracing in order to bring this instrument up to Bill Tippin’s current standards. As a result of Bill Tippin’s diligent work, the beautiful top of this instrument has been relieved of any excessive stiffness and tension through his his proprietary X-Bracing adjustments; creating an openness and fullness its tone that is seldom heard. After Bill’s recent improvements, this nearly 20 year old Tippin OM-T sounds, plays, and looks, like it is virtually brand new.
