A more perfect counterpoint to a rosewood dreadnought couldn't be imagined. This Waterloo WL-AT maple acoustic archtop has the perfect clear, articulate voice for taking leads over a second guitar (Gillian and David, anyone?), or for chunking out jazz chords in an ensemble. Bill Collings' initial plans for the Waterloo line included an archtop, inspired by a 1930s flat-backed Recording King he had kicking around. Sadly he never built one while he was still alive, but his amazing team carried his vision on and crafted the WL-AT in his honor.
Standard WL-ATs feature mahogany back and sides and a sunburst finish, but this maple WL-AT Scissortail pays homage to the "Oriole" guitars made by Kalamazoo between 1940 and 1942. This pre-owned guitar is in excellent condition, and comes with its original hard case.
