Details

Working out of her shop in California, Wingert Guitars is a one-woman operation run by Kathy Wingert. Wingert is celebrated for the sonic and constructional artistry of her modern acoustic builds, of which she only makes 10 or fewer per year. She says of her Model E:

"I designed my Model E with comfort and bass response in mind. The body length is the same as a dreadnought, but with a smaller 15-inch lower bout. The waist is long and lean which allows the player’s arm to go over a narrower part of the body. Equally at home in the hands of both fingerstyle players and flatpickers, tall players as well as small, this is my most popular model. The Model E Grand Concert is my personal favorite."

This 2003 Indian rosewood Model E has a dry yet nuanced voice, with a delectably warm, open, played-in tone. A simple abalone rosette and koa binding add the right visual appeal to match this guitar's classic, honest sound. The condition is overall very good. It does have some very minor, light finish dings that are hard to photograph, but it's honest play wear from nearly 20 years of use.
