The Yamaha L-55 stands as the shining example from Yamaha’s sought after L-series. The initial L models were introduced in 1975, and quickly rose to popularity. Yamaha then proceeded to add four high end guitars to this series; the L-51, L-52, L-53 and L-54. By 1980, the L-55 Custom was born. This guitar remains as the pinnacle of Yamaha’s “L” era, which came to a close in 1988. Featuring Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and a solid Ezo Spruce top, this guitar projects a massive voice while still providing a comfortable playing experience with its ergonomic “Modified-V” neck profile. It is fully outfitted with unmistakable ornate L-series style inlay work throughout, giving this guitar its hallmark aesthetic appeal. This Yamaha L-55 Custom is in great condition for its age, and lives on as one of the finest representations of the beloved L-series.
